In order to investigate the actual condition related to job of sanitary officials who belong to Taegu city and Kyungpook province, 370 sanitary officials were surveyed by questionnaires and 297 out of them responded completely.
According to age distribution of sanitary officials in Taegu city and Kyungpook provinc, it was showed 54.5% in officials in the thirties, 39.4% in the graduated from college, 93.3% in male but those who specialized in health or environment field were no more than 17.5%.
Most of the officials (89.5%) responded affirmatively about controls for illegal opening till late at night after. But people who answered they had many problem in their own life because of insufficient rest were 84.8% and the major reasons for many problem in their own life were ´lack of leisure time´ and ´concerning about health´ (70.7%). Those who have experienced menace during such controls by illegal businessman were 69.0%. Difficulties for their own job by control for illegal opening till late at night were ´fatigue by come back home late´ (36.0%), ´irritability for own job´ (23.6%), and ´overweight of civil affairs administration (22.2%).
For the degree of satisfaction in duties, 16.9% of them were dissatisfactory, 79.8% of them wanted to leave their department and the main reasons for it were ´lack of promotion´ (28.6%) and ´difficulties for home life´ (25.6%).
The increase of number of persons and organization, the self-control in business circles, the intensification of administrative measures were recommended as improvement methods about sanitary business´s controlling. As being mentioned above, the sanitary officials don´t cope with increasing sanitary business enough, especially heavy burden of business affairs besides their own business appear to cause many difficulties in latitude of personal life as well as their own job, therefore, more sanitary officials and extension of organization are requested in order to meet enlarged concerning of health sanitation and thorough guide and control and sense of responsibility of sanitary officers
are requested to improve national health status.
